Teri Larsen, ASID, Owner of T. Larsen Design, LLC - Laura Kruse, New Richmond (WI) News

Teri has been a professional interior designer since 1998, but has always had a knack for the creative. She has worked in both commercial and residential firms, and currently runs her own interior design studio, T. Larsen Design, offering affordable interior design services for both home and office. She is also available for online design services for clients out of the Minnesota and Wisconsin areas. From one custom window treatment to $1 million new construction, she works on a wide range of projects in all budgets. She sums up her design philosophy this way:

"Good interior design has the power to change our mood, our productivity and our lives, and it should not be reserved only for the wealthy. I believe that anyone can benefit from design, no matter their budget, and no one should ever be intimidated to seek advice on any home or office project."

Teri works with do-it-yourselfers who need a little advice as well as those who wish to have her manage their entire project from start to finish. This award-winning designer has the experience to tackle a project of any size, including commercial design projects. Teri is a Professional Member of ASID, NCIDQ-certified, a Registered Interior Designer in the State of Wisconsin and a Certified Professional Hunter Douglas Dealer.

Teri has also been pursuing her freelance writing career, and currently writes a regular column for regional magazine Metro Women and the Central St. Croix News, and previously for The Local Biz. Her online writing credits include articles on Ava Living, Plinth & Chintz, E-How, Budget Decorating Online and her company blog. She teaches interior design courses through community education, and enjoys teaching others how to improve their surroundings. Teri just completed her first e-book, Designing for Children, which is available on Amazon. She created A Little Design Help as a free resource of interior design information for DIYers.

Outside of interior design, she is a mom of 2 and married to her college sweetheart. She enjoys camping, biking, art, crafts of all kinds, reading and volunteering with her church, school and library. She enjoys creating, whether through words or through the visual arts. There are very few crafts that she has not tried - and she has the closet full of art and craft supplies to prove it! Teri looks forward to contributing to Suite 101 in every way that she can, and she is always looking for more writing opportunities.
